STRIPLVVEGAS CHARLI XCX HEADLINING PRIDE AFTER-PARTY CONCERT Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) will welcome chart-topping pop singer-songwriter Charli XCX (“Boom Clap”, “Fancy”) on Oct. 21 to headline the official Las Vegas PRIDE after-party concert. The special one-night-only event will commemorate the 18th Annual PRIDE Night Parade, which will begin at the 4th Street parade route from 8-10pm with the all-ages concert immediately following at the adjacent DLVEC. Tickets priced at $20 (plus fees) at THE SWEETS’ SPOT WITH MELODY SWEETS Absinthe’s ‘Green Fairy’ takes a night out on the town at The Smith Center for an evening of decadence for her The Sweets’ Spot with Melody Sweets. Sweets captivates audiences with a voice reminiscent of a golden era, but with a modern eclectic edge that renders her sound timeless. Expect a night filled with dazzling eye candy, specialty cocktails, enchanting original music, classic covers, glamorous burlesque, kinky cabaret, and other Vaudeville-style variety acts to satisfy your Sweets tooth! Performance held in The Smith Center’s intimate Cabaret Jazz theater on Oct. 11, 2016. Tickets range from $25-$40. BABY SHARKS HATCHING AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM 24 Banded Bamboo Shark eggs have been laid, three babies have emerged, and have been named in honor of the 2016 USA Olympic Swim Team members including Michael Phelps, Lilly King and local Vegas Olympian, Cody Miller. The purpose of the Museum’s hatching program, and all parts of the Museum, is to educate the Southern Nevada community about the wonders of natural science. This rare and unique scientific occurrence offers guests an inside look into the biological development of sharks. The sharks will eventually go to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay to live permanently. Admission to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum starts at $10 for adults. EXTREME HAUNTED HOUSES AT FRIGHTDOME New for 2016’s Frightdome at Circus Circus: “Tis the Season to be Horrified – Krampus Haunted House” (the legendary horned demonic counterpart to Claus), OUIJA Solo Maze (enter the séance with others if you dare, but be forewarned, you’ll find yourself separated and left all ALONE), the popular horror game franchise: “Five Nights at Freddy’s”, plus 250,000 ‘scare’ foot of scare zones: “Clown Havoc”, “Freak Show”, “Corn Stalkers”, “VooDoo – Mardi Gras of the Dead”, and “Fright Club” live music and entertainment, and of course, all in and around the dome full of 25 rides and attractions. Open Oct. 1-31 7pm-Midnight. Tickets start at $36.95 ASYLUM AND HOTEL FEAR Asylum & Hotel Fear brings patrons down the dark hallways of Meadview Asylum, headed by Dr. Vander and his son Adriane—but the patients have taken over the asylum. Asylum is located at Meadows Mall (NW corner of JCPenney’s parking lot). Tickets are $15 and $20 for VIP line bypass, on select nights 6:30pm-Midnight. Locals receive a discount. WARNING: REALISTICALLY HORRIFYING FREAKLING BROS. So traumatically frightening are the three haunts by Freakling Bros., many a fan leave unwilling to visit again. The Trilogy of Terror is a three-haunt psychological fear factor test, if you will, and for ages 17-and-older only. Located at 4245 S. Grand Canyon Dr., LV, NV 89147, a Freak Pass ticket to all 3 is $35, or individually $14, and Gates of Hell $15. Open select nights 9/30-10/31 from 7pm-Midnight. MILLION-DOLLAR MONSTER ENERGY CUP Monster Energy Cup showcases the world’s top Supercross riders in a head-to-head battle for the coveted Monster Energy Cup and the chance to win $1 million, the largest prize in motorcycle racing. Unlike any other race, the Monster Energy Cup challenges riders to compete in three 10-Lap Main Events on a custom-designed track, inspired by five-time Supercross Class Champion, Ricky Carmichael. New for 2016, the highest start in Supercross history: from the top of Sam Boyd Stadium, the start gate leads to a 165-foot starting ramp at a 33-degree decline.
