SANTODONATO, LOUIS MAMO LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER Creating, being artistic, making art in all its forms is a pleasure to do, and every issue that we pull together month after month is done with the utmost care. I strive each month to create that perfect issue. I don’t think I’ve made it yet, or ever will, but you need to keep striving for perfection. This month’s issue is dedicated to an art form that I am very intimately familiar with— music. This past year was tragic regarding how many gifted musical artists were lost. As a musician myself who lost a few of my immeasurable inspirations, I was overwhelmed to lose these artists that helped to not only shape my style in the music I create, but also the art and panache of my photography. I have used their music to set the vibe during photo shoots and used it to influence the layouts that decorate STRIPLV pages. Their music will continue to influence my style. I can feel the weight when I create the original music for our girls films. Each month, with every new issue, it’s like having baby. We say “We’ve had another baby.” That’s because while creating can be a rewarding process, it can also take you to a deeper level of consciousness tapping into the inner workings of yourself. The finished product is a part of that artists’ being that he or she gives to the audience never to get back. That’s why for this issue it was so important for me to pay homage to those artists before me that are no longer with us. Their souls and essence will live on through their music and performances that they created for us.
